In the novel, Martin introduces the plot-lines of the noble houses of Westeros, the Wall, and the Targaryens.

George Raymond Richard Martin was born in Bayone, New Jersey (September 20, 1948) is a novelist and short story writer in the fantasy, horror, and science fictions genres, screenwriter, and television producer. He is best known for his series of epic fantasy novels, A Song of Ice and Fire, wich was adapted into the HBO series Game of Thrones (2011-2019).
He lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
